In the operas of Richard Wagner, love is a force to be reckoned with, wrapped in myths, natural phenomena, self-sacrifice and death, torn between the secular and the spiritual. Tenor Tuomas Katajala, soprano Silja Aalto, mezzosoprano Maria Turunen and organist Irina Ala-Opas bring an overflowing package of Wagnerian love to the concert hall, putting the Musiikkitalo organ through its paces in replicating Wagner’s unique orchestrations.
