Kaija Saariaho (1952–2023) was one of internationally most successful Finnish composers, who mesmerised the world especially with her operas and orchestral music. It is thanks to her that the Music Centre was able to get the long-awaited world-class concert organ. The organ had a festive inauguration in a concert by Olivier Latry on 1 January 2024. Now Latry returns to the Music Centre in a concert with Saariaho’s friend, Anssi Karttunen, as they perform chamber music works dedicated to the composer. The concert will be repeated later at the Philharmonie concert hall in Paris.
