Kerttu lives in a tiny village, so tiny that it almost does not exist. A great wind sweeps across the world, blowing houses and people away. Kerttu is separated from her family and finds herself in a strange forest. She meets a wolf who becomes her friend and confidant. Then Kerttu and Hukkanen embark on a journey to find a miraculous tree, Buu.
Written by author Kari Hotakainen with music by Jouni Hirvelä, this fairy tale originated in an e-mail sent by organist Jan Lehtola to Hotakainen in October 2024. “Lehtola told me about the famous Musiikkitalo organ and asked me to write a fairy tale around it. It was a commission that sounded both mad and interesting, so I said yes.”
